SweDev is pleased to welcome three new institutional members in 2025. Institutional support members strengthen the development research network across Sweden and contribute to SweDev’s activities. They also play a strategic role in guiding SweDev’s engagement through their respective representative in the SweDev steering committee.
New Institutional Members:



Wexsus – West Sweden Nexus for Sustainable Development
Collaboratively run by Chalmers University of Technology, University of Gothenburg and University West, Wexsus connects all sectors of society to build relationships that promote knowledge-based the transition to a more sustainable society. Wexsus connects academia in West Sweden with society, including university networks in both East Africa and West Africa.
Department of Global Public Health, Karolinska Institutet
A multidisciplinary department with the aim to advance knowledge about challenges and opportunities for public health in a local, national and global setting. This includes studying how societal phenomena affect health in a globalised world and translating research evidence into public health action.
Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University
A leading institution in peace and conflict studies, the primary goal of research at the department is to understand the causes and dynamics of peace and conflict. It is home to the Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP), the world’s primary source of data on organized violence.
SweDev looks forward to collaborating with these institutions to advance development research.
