About
At Wexsus, I primarily promote and coordinate collaboration involving the Global South. Such collaboration mostly concerns research, graduate-level education and cooperation with other societal actors. I participate and lead projects in networks that encompass partners in both East and West Africa with thematics in STEM, health and more, typically with interdisciplinary approaches.
A few words about my past: In 2008, after many years of research in biophysical chemistry in USA, Sweden and Denmark, I relocated to University of Cape Coast in Ghana as associate professor in medical biochemistry. As a faculty member of the new School of Medical Sciences, duties shifted from high-tech research to teaching and institutional development. In 2012, I became the Center President of African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Ghana, which was opened with a new MSc program eight months later. I then became the global academic director of AIMS (based in Sweden), contributing to the launch of new centers and programs for training, research and outreach in mathematical sciences in Cameroon, Tanzania, Rwanda and Senegal.
