A membership in the SweDev network is free and open to PhD holders, PhD students, master’s students, and research associates working in development research who are affiliated with a Swedish research environment. Just follow this step-by-step guide.
Become a member
Select “Membership” in the top navigation menu. From the dropdown menu, click “Become a Member.”
Register as a SweDev member
Choose to continue by entering your ORCID iD, or proceed without one (see image below).
If you connect your profile to your ORCID iD, your profile will automatically be populated with your latest publications previously uploaded to ORCID or Publons.
If you don’t connect your profile to ORCID, you can add publications manually.
Choose which SweDev registry you would like to join
Select the registry that best matches your profile. You can choose between:
- Research Community
PhD holders, PhD students, or development researchers - Master’s Student
Students currently enrolled in a master’s programme
Finalise your profile
In the final step, complete your profile by filling in the requested information. You can add as much or as little information as you like, but providing more information makes it easier for others to find you
In particular, using the drop-down menus to select appropriate “research areas” and signalling your regional expertise (“region”) helps make you visible to users looking for an expert on a specific topic or region.
Want to change or update your profile? No problem!
If you are already registered and wish to make changes – you can update your information at any time. Use the top navigation bar, click “Log in,” and then select “Edit profile.”
