The 2026 theme is: “Discovering African Archaeology and Heritage without Borders.” Recognising the challenges faced by African and non-African researchers in conducting projects across multiple neighbouring African countries, the organisers invite papers and sessions that reflect, critique, and expand on these challenges, while charting new methodologies for future research.
