About
I am Associate Senior Lecturer in Political Science at Karlstad University. My research focuses mainly on how international development is rendered "governable" through bureaucratic tools and techniques. I have a specific interest in the role of the project format, focusing particularly on how it renders international development technical and apolitical. Moreover, I have developed an interest in the role of expertise and knowledge in international development, specifically focusing on how knowledge in bureaucratic settings is produced and the development problems this knowledge constructs and renders actionable. Generally, I have an interest in examining, and discussing, governance issues, aid bureaucracies, the role of expertise and evidence in development work, and the colonial legacies in the current development landscape.
