Welcome to the launch event for the report entitled “Standard hellre än särart? Förutsägbarhet och (o)förståelse i svenska biståndsrelationer”(in English: Standard Rather than Diversity? Predictability and (Mis)understanding in Swedish Aid Relations) on 23 January 2025, at 15:00. The event will start with a presentation of the report by Susanna Alexius and Janet Vähämäki, followed by contributions from commentators and audience questions, and concludes with refreshments and music offered by SCORE from 16.30 onwards!

Topic
Susanna Alexius and Janet Vähämäki will present the results of a survey conducted in 2023 on trust patterns in aid organization from their recently published report. The purpose of the survey was to study trust patterns between donors and recipients in aid, and especially to investigate whether and to what extent organizational diversity (among donors from civil society, government agencies, and research organizations) is perceived to strengthen—or perhaps rather weaken—trust between the parties. The report discusses questions such as: Are the stated ideals about the value of diversity in organizational identity perceived as an added value in practice? Are organization- and context-specific differences something that strengthens trust between aid bureaucrats, or do they instead orient themselves according to a common standard?
