The 15th of October, The Expert Group for Aid Studies (EBA), invites participants to the launch of the new report “What Are They Fighting For? An Issue-based Approach to the Analysis and Resolution of Civil War” by Johan Brosché, Sebastian Raattamaa and Kate Lonegren.

The report examines conflict issues in civil wars around the world and concludes that peace agreements are more likely to endure when they address a broader range of conflict issues.

Alongside the report launch, the seminar will feature presentations of three recent dissertations in peace and conflict research from Uppsala University by Jenniina Kotajoki, Gudlaug Olafsdottir and Juan Diego Duque-Salazar. Together, these contributions will shed light on key themes, including the reasons behind conflicts, collaboration with non-state armed groups, and the role of violence in elections.

By bringing together new research and practical insights, the seminar aims to deepen understanding of pathways to lasting peace and create a platform for dialogue across sectors.

EBA looks forward to your participation!
