Collaboration in a (post-) pandemic world – the need to reconnect and rethink priorities
Date: November 16, 2021
Welcome to Global Sustainable Futures second annual online conference 2021. The conference targets researchers and teachers at the University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology and their partners in low- and middle-income countries with an interest in academic collaboration. The event aims to strengthen networks, provide inspiration and present new research or experiences from other forms of university collaborations.
The past 18 months brought us new insights, new habits and new ways of working together. Keeping respectfully in mind the huge personal losses of lives, livelihoods and relationships that millions of people have experienced, the pandemic also forced us to re-think our priorities.
The transition towards more sustainable paths for development has added a focus on research and policy collaboration. The pandemic has made the global inequalities visible – be it health, food, gender, or access to internet – and at the same time shown us that we share the same world, with shared development goals, challenges and missions.
This is the setting for the second Global Sustainable Futures conference featuring two keynote presentations and three parallel sessions. Researchers and lecturers will present new research, new collaborations and lessons from global exchange and reflect on collaboration in a (post)-pandemic world. It will be partly a stock-taking discussion – where are we now? – and partly a forward-looking conversation – where do we go from here?
