SweDev is welcoming a new member in its Steering Committee and a new Executive Committee has been formed.
SweDev’s chairperson, Jesper Sundewall, warmly welcomes Bwalya Chibwe from Linköping University as the new PhD representative person on the Steering Committee.
Bwalya Chibwe has a BSc in Ecology, an MSc in Conservation Genetics and Wildlife Forensics, and an MSc in Fish and Wildlife Population Management. She is a doctoral researcher affiliated to the Department of Thematic Studies – Environmental Change and The Centre for Climate Science and Policy Research (CSPR) at Linköping University. Ms. Chibwe is studying the role of digital technologies in environmental crime within the context of the Convention on Biological Diversity. Her research interests include socio-ecological systems, Environmental crime, and Indigenous and Local Knowledge.
As Bwalya Chibwe joins SweDev, the network is also saying farewell to Tanya Andersson Nystedt, from Lund University, who previously held the PhD representative position. Cecilia Strand also recently had to leave the Steering Committee. SweDev is thankful for their previous work with the Steering Committee and wishes them well in their future projects.
New Executive Committee of SweDev
Additionally, the Executive Committee has also recently seen some changes with Emma Elfversson and Bengt Ove Turesson joining following the departure of Elisabeth Olivius and Linda Engström. The Executive Committee now consists of:

About the SweDev Steering Committee
The SweDev Steering Committee is responsible for the strategic development of the network, the SweDev work plan and for reporting results to our financiers. SweDev’s Steering Committee consists of representatives from a variety of Swedish development research environments. One seat is reserved to a member of the organising committee of the forthcoming DevRes conference, and one seat is reserved to a PhD student in development studies. The committee elects a Chair amongst its members.
