Webinar: Localising aid: why aren’t we there yet?

ODI will host the second instalment of its “Donors in a post-aid world” webinar series on the topic “Localising aid: why aren’t we there yet?” on 28 February, 16:00 CET. The webinar series “aims to foster dialogue based on multi-faceted evidence and inform pathways for the transformation of the Northern funder ecosystem.”

“Localisation promises more equitable and accountable ways of working from providers of development finance.” While localisation is not new on the agenda, it has recently attracted substantial attention as a way to enable “relevancy, cost-effectiveness, sustainable impact and commitment to equity”. Despite this, it has been difficult to implement even by those who support it. This webinar will discuss new research related to implementation barriers and internal blockages for localisation and how they may be addressed.
