Event
Swedish development cooperation with Ethiopia: sixty years of lessons learned
Date: December 8, 2022
One of Sweden’s most long standing and important partner countries within development cooperation is without a doubt Ethiopia. Important sectors for aid have been rural development, education, democracy and human rights.
The Expert Group for Aid Studies (EBA) organises this seminar on learnings from Swedish development cooperation with Ethiopia. This seminar launches the EBA report Swedish Development Cooperation with Ethiopia: Sixty Years of Lessons Learned, presented by authors Bereket Kebede, Leif Danielsson, Hailu Elias and Gunnar Köhlin.
During the course of the seminar the authors will present their report and we will discuss issues like: What are the most important outcomes of the development cooperation with Ethiopia, out of a long-term perspective? What are the most important lessons to learn for Sweden as a donor country? Given the current situation in Ethiopia, what must future development cooperation take into consideration?
